Five women, Elaine, Betty, Anita, Pat, and Claire, who had been close friends for more than 70 years, made up the actual 80 for the Brady club. The friends were already close because they shared a passion for football, but after one of them became widowed, they became even closer because of their shared admiration for the Tom Brady of the New England Patriots (via People).

The pals met up every week to watch Brady and the Patriots, and because of their devotion, they gave their group the nickname “Over 80 For Brady” club. Beginning with Elaine and Betty, the group quickly included Anita, Claire, and Pat before being fully formed.

The trio said they had always been friends, but playing football together on the weekends gave them a new bond and was a terrific moment in their lives when they appeared on CBS Sunday Morning (via YouTube). Did The Real 80 For Brady Club Ever Go To A Super Bowl?

The central idea of 80 For Brady is the group’s desire to attend the Super Bowl, which ironically serves as the debut for many movie trailers, and watching Tom Brady play. The major objective of the 80 For Brady group is to see Tom Brady and the Patriots win the 2017 Super Bowl.
