EXO’s D.O. Will Play the Villain Role In New Upcoming Drama Along With Ji Chang-Wook

The writer of Taxi Driver’s next revenge drama Sculpture City has reportedly cast Ji Chang-wook and EXO’s D.O. on November 13, 2023. In the next suspense drama, viewers will be immersed in the lives of a regular guy who goes through hell on earth. The drama will unfold as to what he will do once he returns from the most trying phase.

With Ji Chang-wook and EXO’s D.O. apparently confirmed for the upcoming series Sculpture City fans are over the moon and can’t wait to see the on-screen chemistry between the couple.

Ji Chang-Wook and D.O. New Upcoming Drama

EXO’s D.O. will be chronicling the part of an adversary in the forthcoming series. He will take on the role of an architect who is involved in everything but true, authentic architecture. He is said to make normal people’s lives into a living hell.

D.O. has reportedly accepted a role in the drama ‘Sculpture City’ and is in the process of completing his appearance, per sources within the entertainment sector. The protagonist of the revenge thriller ‘Sculpture City’ is a seemingly ordinary man whose life suddenly spirals into the abyss. The creation of this play, which has been called a masterpiece, reportedly cost 35 billion won ($26,461,442).

It is said that, D.O. loved the script at first read and is excited to portray the major villain for the first time since his debut. His job description compares him to an architect who shapes people’s lives so that they experience hell on earth. Since making his acting debut in the film “Cart,” D.O. has gone on to star in other critically acclaimed movies and television shows. To add to the anticipation, this will be his first time playing the primary antagonist.

A typical architect creates habitable spaces for people to live in, but D.O. from EXO will demonstrate the dark side of the profession by destroying the buildings in which regular people have made their homes. In the 2015 film Hello Monster (I Remember You), the idol is portrayed an antagonistic character. After an absence of more than seven years, he’ll soon make another combative appearance in the K-drama industry.

Even though they’ll be playing polar opposites, fans are anticipating a new bromance between Ji Chang-Wook and the EXO member. Reportedly, Ji Chang-Wook will play the lead part of a man whose life has been turned upside down by the schemes of others. He eventually returns to normal life, but not before deciding to exact revenge on those who made his life so difficult in the first place.

In addition, the drama’s script will be written by Oh Sang-ho, who previously collaborated with Ji Chang-wook on Fabricated City. Kim Chang-joo will be the film’s director. Fans of both K-dramas and K-pop groups were ecstatic at the prospect of seeing the two stars co-star in a drama for the first time. They are also happy that Ji Chang-wook is producing successful works. The Worst of Evil was the last series he appeared in. Sculpture City will start production in the second half of 2024.
