Due to recent issues surrounding his personal life, SM Entertainment stated on November 22 KST that Seunghan would be taking a break from RIIZE activities. In September, RIIZE made their official debut under SM Entertainment. However, Seunghan became mired in scandal after images from his trainee days in Japan and video calls with other singers were posted online, all before his debut.
According to the management company, “Seunghan is sincerely sorry and reflects on the disappointment and confusion caused to the team and members as well as the fans due to issues related to his personal life.” Seunghan, feeling the weight of responsibility, gave the matter careful thought before deciding what was best for the group. He announced his plans to take a break. Since we valued his input, we decided to put a permanent halt on his work.
Therefore, excluding Seunghan, RIIZE will consist of 6 active members beginning on November 22. “We feel great responsibility for being negligent in managing our artists even before their debut,” the agency said. To our loyal audience, we sincerely regret.

The release of Seunghan’s private recordings and images prompted them to threaten legal action, however. The agency stated, “The videos and photos that are currently being leaked and distributed without permission have been reproduced several times to cause misunderstanding through intentional secondary editing,” and continued, “We have collected significant evidence and identified the person who leaked and distributed the information without permission.” We want to file a formal complaint with the police.
