Airing Date
The new Pokémon Horizons arc is scheduled to debut on Japanese TV screens on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Interestingly, this launch date falls almost exactly one year after the series first premiered back on April 14, 2023. Whether this timing is intentional or just a cool coincidence remains a mystery.
Meet the New Protagonists and Pokémon
The key visual for the upcoming arc gives us a glimpse of the new main characters, Liko and Roy, along with their starter Pokémon – Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
These Pokémon made their debut in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games. We also catch sight of the new Pokémon Terapagos, alongside some familiar faces from the series.
Series Overview
The Pokémon Horizons anime kicked off with a special one-hour episode in April 2023 and has been airing regular episodes every Friday since then.
It recently wrapped up its first arc and dove into its second, titled “The Brilliance of Terapagos”.
Notable Features
Aside from the new characters and Pokémon, fans can look forward to seeing the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza in its rare Shiny form.
Shiny Pokémon are super rare variants with different colors than usual. The series also introduces characters like Friede and Captain Pikachu, who team up with Liko and Roy.
