The cast of MBC’s upcoming drama “Such a Close Traitor” (working title) has expanded to include Han Ye Ri, Chae Won Bin, and Han Suk Kyu!
In the new psychological thriller “Such a Close Traitor,” Han Suk Kyu plays the role of top Korean profiler Jang Tae Soo, who is caught in the middle of a murder investigation when he learns his daughter’s secret.
In addition to Han Suk Kyu’s long-awaited return to an MBC drama after 29 years since “Hotel” in 1995, Han Ye Ri will also be making her small screen debut in this drama, following a three-year hiatus from her role in tvN’s mystery thriller “Hometown.”
Jang Tae Soo leads the Criminal Behavior Analysis team, while Han Ye Ri will play the role of Officer Lee Eoh Jin. With a background in criminal psychology from the UK, Lee Eoh Jin puts cases before persons and facts before emotions. As much as she looks up to Jang Tae Soo, she can’t help but wonder whether he’s hiding something.
Actress Chae Won Bin will play Jang Ha Bin, the only daughter of Jang Tae Soo. Despite her outwardly average appearance, Jang Ha Bin inherited her father’s remarkable talent for perceiving and understanding human emotions and motivations. In particular, Ha Bin is a figure whose hidden truth would utterly devastate Jang Tae Soo, her father.
The films “Champion,” “Six Flying Dragons,” and “Hello, My Twenties!”—among others—showcase Han Ye Ri’s versatile charm and steady acting chops. Specifically, for her performance in “Minari,” which played at film festivals throughout the world, she was named Best Actress at the 2021 Gold List Awards.
