The internet has rallied around BABYMONSTER Pharita after a video purportedly showing her admiring TXT’s Yeonjun became popular.
Promos for BABYMONSTER’s new single “Sheesh” have been airing on music shows since the band’s recent return. The single has received mixed reviews from internet users, however the band’s live performance has won over some fans.
Notable guests on the April 11th episode of M! Countdown included BABYMONSTER and TXT. In the end, TXT prevailed over ILLIT to claim first place.
The band TXT followed their acceptance speech with a live encore, as is customary at most concerts. As the other groups were still leaving the stage, Pharita was seen staring at Yeonjun throughout the encore, with some even going so far as to imply that she was “checking” the male idol out.
In the past, internet users would have reacted negatively to even the slightest hint of romance between stars, making them wary of any kind of engagement. For instance, the video of Q from THE BOYZ and Giselle from aespa avoiding each other at an awards presentation became viral due to their amusing antics.

But instead of largely condemnation, netizens were mostly entertained by the event. In response to the vocal minority’s criticism of the idol, many internet users said they could sympathize and would have reacted similarly if they had seen Yeonjun.
