A Merged Hbo Max/discovery+ Streaming Service Is Planned For The Summer Of 23.

By Summer of 2023, Discovery has indicated that it will merge HBO Max and Discovery+ into one unified streaming service. To be disclosed at a later date is the name of the combined service as well as pricing details. With the addition of HBO, CNN, DC Comics, Discovery, Food Network, HGTV, Magnolia Network, TBS and TNT, the combined streamer will be a one-stop shop for content from Warner’s extensive library. The fate of Max Originals was not discussed at WBD’s Thursday conference call.

According to WBD CEO and President David Zaslav, “our objective is to embrace and promote and drive the extraordinary success that HBO Max is enjoying.” To have Casey [Bloys] and the crew, as well as all the creatives, read the scripts and battle with all the creatives to make the storytelling strongest possible… is an unbelievable advantage.” “We want the content to be broader,” says the team. That is something that we, as a corporation, will support. We’re confident that the new HBO Max/Discovery+ service will be a triumph. It’s all about selection. It everything boils down to the level of excellence. It’s all about the quality.”
