An Overview of Acapulco Season 3
In a scene reminiscent of How I Met Your Mother, the senior Máximo (Eugenio Derbez) tells his nephew Hugo how he got from being poor to rich (Raphael Alejandro). With the help of Don Pablo Bonilla (Damián Alcázar) and Memo (Fernando Carsa), we watched Máximo (Enrique Arrizon) gain a position at the resort and thrived by the pool in the first season.
When they were both teenagers, Maximo had the chance to romance Julia, a famous front desk agent played by Camila Perez. When Julia decided to marry Chad, played by Jessica Collins’ Diane Davies, the resort’s owner, Maximo, was heartbroken. At the start of the second season, an elder, Máximo and Hugo, go to a memorial service for Don Pablo. Maximo begins his story by recounting the events of 1985, a year that was vital for him emotionally and professionally.
Máximo is getting used to his new job, and Julia and Chad are getting engaged at the beginning of the year. 1985 is a year of second chances at Las Colinas: Maximo loses his job, brings it back, and finds comfort in a friend. With a second chance at love, Nora (Vanessa Bauche) comes to terms with her daughter’s sexual orientation. When Don Pablo tries spending more time on his personal life, he learns that he is more comfortable at the resort and decides to give it another go.
