The list of the top-selling recorded artists in the world for the year 2022 was officially published on February 23 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). BTS, who is ranked No. 2 for the year 2022 behind Taylor Swift, made their fifth entry in the top 10 of the IFPI’s World Recorded Artist Chart in five years.
While Seventeen is now at No. 6, this is the band’s second appearance on the chart after their No. 9 debut in 2021. Stray Kids, a global quartet of the fourth generation, debuted at No. 7 on the Top 10 Global Recording Artist Chart. Congratulations to BTS, Seventeen, and Stray Kids!
BTS
The Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS (Korean: RR: Bangtan Sonyeondan; lit. Bulletproof Boy Scouts), is a South Korean boy band that was founded in 2010. The members of the group—Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—co-write and co-produced most of their songs.
Their lyricism has focused on topics such as mental health, the difficulties of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the path to self-love, individualism, and the effects of fame and recognition. Although they started out as a hip-hop group, their musical style has evolved to incorporate a wide range of genres.
