Alejandro Fernández Career
“Brumas,” “Equivocadamente,” and “Necesito Olvidarla” are three of the songs on Fernández’s 1992 self-titled album. His next trip was to Mexico and the United States, where he performed for thousands of fans. His second album, “Piel de Nia,” was published in 1993 and quickly became a commercial success, launching the hits “Cascos Ligeros” and “A La Vera del Camino.”
“Grandes Éxitos a la Manera de Alejandro Fernández” was released the next year, which has famous songs from musicians including Agustn Lara, Armando Manzanera, and Luis Demetrio sung by Fernández.
With his fourth album, “Que Seas Muy Feliz,” Fernández became a household name in the United States. When he released “Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella,” it was his first global hit. In 1996, Fernández released “Muy Dentro de Mi Corazón,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album. Meanwhile, “Moo Negro,” “Nube Viajera,” and “Abrazame,” all top-ten singles, were born from the project.
In 1997, Fernández released his sixth studio album, “Me Estoy Enamorando,” which became his most successful record. As a departure from his prior ranchera-inflected compositions, the album was noteworthy for signaling a shift in his musical style.
As a result of this creative move, the album climbed to the top of the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and stayed there for a whole twelve weeks. Furthermore, each of its four singles – “Si T Supieras,” “En El Jardn,” “No Sé Olvidar,” and “Yo Nac Para Amarte” – reached the top of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Performance went to Fernández for the album.
With the release of “Mi Verdad” in 1999, Fernández made a comeback to ranchera music. With “Entre Tus Brazos, Origenes,” “Un Canto de México,” “Nia Amada Ma,” “Viento A Favor, and De Noche: Clásicos A Mi Manera,” among others, he followed up on his debut album.
A double CD by Fernández, “Dos Mundos: Evolution + Tradicion,” was published in 2009. It wasn’t long until “Confidencias,” a collaboration with Christina Aguilera, was released. His 15th studio album, “Rompiendo Fronteras,” was released in 2017 after Fernández took a break from recording for a while. The album “Hecho en México” will be available in 2020.
