Nkechi Okoro Statements Regarding Storyline of The All American Season 4-

The fourth season of All American is still broadcasting at the time of this writing. The show will continue to follow Spencer James as he nears graduation, while also looking forward to the future: which (possible spoiler warning) saw the actual Spencer Paysinger go on to play collegiate football at Oregon.

Here what he said-

“You hope what you’re doing is making a difference, and my goal for this episode was that hopefully, it would lead to people understanding the pain and that we’re at the point where enough is enough,” Okoro Carroll said (via EW).

“But I don’t know. It seems like nothing seems to make a difference sometimes. I try not to be disheartened by that and I try to put the authentic truth of that in the show, because we pride ourselves on these characters authentically portraying what it’s like to be youth, and specifically Black youth, in America nowadays. And we hope that it makes a difference.”

“I never in a million years thought that this episode would be airing days after another young Black teen was murdered at the hands of cops,” Okoro Carroll said (via EW).

“I never imagined it would be airing right after the Derek Chauvin trial. I didn’t think it would be airing right after Adam Toledo’s murder. It’s going to feel like I wrote it last week, and that breaks my heart because it means we haven’t made the forward movement that I was hoping.”

Hunter Clowdus is proud to be working on the show and is looking forward to episodes still to air at the time of writing (via NerdsAndBeyond).

“There’s a lot of really fun stuff coming up and I will say this just holistically about the season. I think this is our best season yet. I think this season, more than any, it’s fresh, it’s new, and it’s moving fast. It’s going to continue to move fast.

“So while the first three seasons, there was a lot of ups and downs, but we needed to build those layers and kind of expand horizontally to build that foundation to let people know who we are. But in season 4, we’re really ready for takeoff.

“And we’re going vertical with everything. I think you’ll see that as the season goes, like every episode we’re moving forward, life is moving, and we’re really showing that in the show right now.

“There are so many things coming up. I’m so excited for the world to see it because it’s just great. Every script I get, I just… I’m laughing out loud. And I’m touched. And it makes me think and it makes me be grateful. I mean, they’re just… the writers, the writers, the writers are just magnificent and I can’t wait for these episodes to keep coming on out.”

And undoubtedly they have worked really well for the fourth installment.
