Because of COVID-19, Matt Robertson and Khani Le’s unusual third date got even stranger when they decided to go to Costa Rica for a long weekend on the spur of the moment.
Because of global shutdowns, this trip ended up lasting 79 days. In Longest Third Date, we get to see things from both of their points of view. They talk about their pasts, what made them click, and how they dealt with the difficult situation that left them stuck in a foreign country.
Are Khani and Matt Still Together?
Everyone wants to know a straightforward thing: did their relationship last? Khani and Matt had to deal with many feelings when they were forced to stay in quarantine, their flights were cancelled, and there was a chance of an outbreak.
During their time in Costa Rica, they got to know each other better through special cooking nights, talked to friends on Zoom, and took online classes together, like dance lessons, to keep from getting bored.
Near the end of their time stuck together, Matt reveals to reporters, to Khani’s surprise, that they are officially boyfriend and girlfriend just before they get a flight home.
It’s lovely, but did they stay together? From what they’ve said on social media, the answer is yes, and the New York Post says that they now live together. They also got a dog, which would make even the most jaded person smile.
Their dog has its own Instagram account, where Matt can be seen in a video from 2021. The last time they were seen together was in January 2023, when they went out to eat with some friends.
This suggests that they are still together. Khani’s social media account is secret, and Matt doesn’t share much on his feed, but right now, everything points to yes.

How Did Matt And Khani Get Home?
After being stuck in Costa Rica for 79 days and having planes cancelled all over the place, they could finally leave and head back to the U.S. The documentary shows they got home later that month on a trip from Houston, paid for by the government. They could return to New York from Texas, but it was much later than planned.
