Black Panther 2 Disney Plus Release Date: Shouldn’t Disney Plus be the place to see Wakanda Forever? Currently, the shortest answer is “we don’t know,” though January 2023 is a strong possibility.
You may be curious as to when the 30th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will join its siblings on one of the world’s greatest streaming platforms, following its theatrical debut. Based on the release schedules of Disney Plus’s previous Marvel films, we can estimate when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will make its way from theatres to your living room.

Black Panther 2 Disney Plus Release Date
There is currently no set date for the Disney Plus premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We anticipate the Phase 4 Marvel Cinematic Universe film to hit theatres in January of 2023. That’s based on our familiarity with the Disney Plus release schedule for prior Marvel movies, so it’s a reasonable estimate for when the superhero movie might be made accessible for home streaming.
First of all, Disney’s streaming service does not debut Marvel films immediately following their theatrical debut. Due to a worldwide 45-day theatrical exclusivity term for all MCU films, their debut on Disney Plus will be delayed by over six weeks.
After 45 days from November 11, Black Panther 2 would premiere on television on Monday, December 26. This would be the day after Christmas for those who observe the holiday. Unfortunately, a launch on December 26 is highly doubtful.
To begin with, none of Marvel’s other theatrically released pictures has made their way to Disney Plus so soon after their initial release. Black Widow is the lone exception; due to the Covid-19 outbreak, it opened in theatres and on Disney Plus simultaneously that July.
Disney also frequently premieres new movies and programming on Wednesdays. The most recent Marvel Cinematic Universe television series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, deviated from that pattern by making its début on a Thursday (August 18).
That’s because fresh episodes of Andor, the latest Star Wars TV series, dropped midweek. Marvel and Lucasfilm both had big reasons for not wanting their tentpole properties to compete with one another on the same day.

So, Black Panther 2 should drop on Disney Plus on December 28 if it follows Marvel’s typical Wednesday release schedule for the service. It’s possible, but the odds of it happening are low, and the answer can be found in Eternals.
Opening in theatres on November 5, 2021, the 26th Marvel Cinematic Universe film wouldn’t be available to stream on Disney Plus until January 12, 2022. In December of 2021, Marvel and Sony Pictures released the film Spider-Man: No Way Home together.
Therefore, it’s clear that Marvel didn’t want Eternals to premiere on Disney Plus while No Way Home was still in theatres, as doing so could have discouraged potential viewers from seeing No Way Home in the theatre. Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, and Gemma Chan are among the stars of the upcoming Marvel film, “The Eternals.”

The release date of Black Panther 2 on Disney Plus can be extrapolated from Eternals. Even if this were true, we don’t anticipate Marvel bringing Wakanda Forever on Disney Plus until sometime in 2024. Disney-owned Marvel Studios doesn’t want Black Panther 2 to premiere on November 25th, the same day that its Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be made available on Disney’s streaming service.
Wakanda Forever will also do exceptionally well at international box offices. If Marvel were to pull the plug on the film’s theatrical run now and make it available for free on Disney Plus, the streaming service would be a financial disaster for the company.

Black Panther 2 Runtime
The total time spent in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is 2 hours and 41 minutes. This includes both sets of credits and the only scene that occurs after the credits roll. Black Panther 2 is now the second-longest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie ever.
It’s three minutes longer than the contentious Eternals movie and only two hours shorter than Avengers: Endgame.
Black Panther 2 Trailer
Next up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which opens in theatres on November 11, 2022. The film follows the struggles of the people of Wakanda after the death of King T’Challa, especially Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje (featuring Florence Kasumba).
The heroes, including War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), must work together to pave a new road for the kingdom of Wakanda as the Wakandans prepare to enter their next chapter. Casting Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a secret underwater realm, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” also features Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanalli.
