Bleach Final Arc Will Reportedly Stream on Disney+

The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Plus website has taken over the distribution of the anime Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen, according to a recent leak from Twitter user Sugoi LITE (Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War). However, no official confirmation from Disney+ has been issued. What does this signify for the revival of the Bleach anime? Fans have a slew of questions.

The Bleach anime series, produced by Studio Pierrot, will return in October 2022, and according to information released in May 2022, Crunchyroll and Disney Plus were vying for the streaming rights to the upcoming arc of Bleach. According to the latest reports, Disney+ outbid Crunchyroll for the streaming rights to the Bleach TYBW arc. Keep in mind that no information has been disclosed on whether Disney+ has worldwide streaming rights or only for a specific region.

Disney is enormous and possesses all of the world’s money. Anime is a fast-expanding entertainment form, and nearly all streaming providers are currently investing large sums of money to obtain exclusive streaming rights for anime series. The bleach franchise already has a large fan following, and it is a foregone conclusion that Disney+ will gain a large number of new subscribers if they can obtain exclusive streaming rights to the Bleach TYBW arc.

On the other hand, this could spell disaster for anime enthusiasts. Streaming services such as Netflix and Disney rarely simulcast the most recent anime episodes, which is one of the most common complaints from anime viewers. Summertime Rendering, an anime series that was not broadcast, is now available on Disney+. The Bleach TYBW arc could suffer greatly if Disney+ decides to distribute the episodes in bunches like Netflix is done with JoJo part 6.

The second issue that anime fans are concerned about is that Disney+ may edit the series, but the good news is that Summertime Rendering is a rather gory anime that was not censored at all on Disney+. Furthermore, Tite Kubo has stated that the Bleach TYBW arc would not be edited, and he is significantly involved in the series creation.

Let’s go over some of the benefits that the Bleach franchise will experience if it is streamed on Disney Plus. Disney spends a lot of time and money promoting their shows, so expect Disney’s social channels to generate a lot of buzzes. Disney already has millions of subscribers and a massive social media fan base. People who have never heard of the Bleach series will be exposed to it, which will encourage more people to watch the show.

The acquisition of the streaming rights to the Bleach series does not imply that Disney will have control over the series’ production decisions. The production committee for Bleach is a separate department, and Disney is just licensing the anime series. According to YouTuber JaymesHanson, Disney has acquired the whole archive of the Bleach anime series, which makes sense because a new fan would probably want to watch the series from the beginning rather than skipping straight to the last arc.

Please bear in mind that the report has not been officially confirmed by Disney. We will continue to update the article when new information becomes available. The official announcement will most likely be made during the Disney Expo in September 2022.
