Blue Lock Anime: Japanese manga series Blue Lock, created by Yusuke Nomura and Muneyuki Kaneshiro, has been running since August 2018 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The Japan Football Union hired a mysterious man dubbed Ego Jinpachi to boost Japan’s World Cup performance after the country’s national soccer team was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.
He intends to train 300 U-18 forwards at the recently built Blue Lock facility until they become the best striker in the entire globe. The 299 losers will never be permitted to play for Japan’s national team; only one forward will earn the privilege of being the country’s next striker.
Yoichi Isagi, one of the selected 300, had recently suffered a crushing defeat at the National High School Football Qualifiers because he chose to pass the ball to a teammate rather than attempt a shot himself. In the race to develop their egos and become the best forward in the world, Yoichi Isagi and the other strikers are followed in the series.

Blue Lock Anime Storyline
Blue Lock events occur after Japan’s humiliating loss in the most recent World Cup tournament. The Japanese Soccer Union is trying a new method of training called Blue Lock to improve the team’s performance.
The enigmatic soccer genius Ego Jinpachi is in charge of the program, and their goal is to identify the best “ego striker” in the world so they can use him to lead the Japanese soccer team to triumph. Those who don’t cut should know this is no ordinary athletic program.
The losers will be banned from participating in any future professional soccer competitions in Japan. Yoichi Isagi, a player with average skills, strives to beat out all of his rivals and become the best soccer player in the world.
Where to Watch Blue Lock
In Japan, Blue Lock can be seen on TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation block, while it can be watched on Crunchyroll outside of the country. Crunchyroll has taken up most shows that originally aired on TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation block. The same holds for any of the presentations made by the Blue Lock team. In July, the first episode had its North American premiere on Crunchyroll at Anime Expo.
An official trailer with English subtitles has also been made available. The possibility exists that Funimation will air the series. The ongoing merger between Funimation and Crunchyroll makes it unlikely that any new series will be added to the service in time for the Fall season.
