“Persona” is a song by BTS, a popular South Korean boy band. In this song, one member named RM raps alone. It was released online on April 12, 2019, as part of their album called “Map of the Soul: Persona.” Later, it was also featured in their 2020 album “Map of the Soul: 7.”
The song is a mix of hip-hop and trap styles, with a bit of guitar in it. It also uses part of the song “Intro: Skool Luv Affair” from the EP released in 2014 with the same name.
RM’s teaser for the BTS album “MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA” reached over 100 million views on YouTube by March 21st, 2024. It’s been almost five years since the video came out on March 28th, 2019.

In the song’s first part, it asks deep questions about RM’s life and imperfections. Then, in the second part, it tells him to accept these qualities. The writing style resembles a diary entry.
RM talks about past issues in the lyrics of “Persona” by mentioning how his name often comes with criticism. In K-pop groups, some fans use “But Namjoon” (RM’s birth name) to shift criticism from one artist to RM. Today, the trailer featuring RM, got over 100 million views. It’s another big win for them!
