BTS’ RM Will Host Modest Concert Next Month: Big Hit Music announced on Wednesday that on December 5th, RM of BTS will invite around 200 fans to shoot a video. This performance is a part of his campaign to promote the release of his debut solo album, “Indigo,” on December 2.

Invitees will be chosen via random drawing. There have been two previous solo mixtapes by the artist (“RM” in 2015 and “mono.” in 2018), but “Indigo” will be the first solo album released by the artist since his debut in June 2013.

As of Wednesday, you can also check out a 46-second preview clip he posted for the album. The film, titled “Identity,” opened with a blue palette and the silhouette of a flower.

The album promises to reveal his innermost thoughts and feelings with phrases like “Documentation of my youth in the period of independent phase” and “the last archive of my 20s.”

Red Velvet’s Yeri to star in drama

On Wednesday, SM Entertainment announced that Red Velvet’s Yeri has been hired as the female lead in an upcoming drama series. In the drama series “Cheongdam International High School,” she plays an affluent heiress who is wrongly accused of murder.

Also on that day, Red Velvet released a number of teaser photos for their upcoming EP “The Reve Festival 2022 – Birthday.” The last EP, “The Reve Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm,” reached number one on the iTunes top albums chart in 41 countries and territories roughly eight months ago.

The lead single “Birthday” is a dance-pop song that samples George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and is about wishing one’s loved one a happy birthday again so that all his desires will come true. The EP, which consists of five songs, will be available for purchase on Monday.

Le Sserafim amasses 300m streams on Spotify

Six months after their debut, Le Sserafim has amassed 300 million streams on Spotify, the music streaming service announced on Wednesday. The two EPs, “Fearless” and “Antifragile,” feature a combined 10 songs from the female group.

Meanwhile, the second EP has spent the last five weeks at the top of both of Billboard’s international rankings. The album debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 list for the week of November 5, the fastest debut ever for a K-pop girl group.

With almost 567,000 copies sold in the first week, the EP is the sixth best-selling EP by a female K-pop group. This group of five will be performing at several music awards shows at the end of the year in 2022. Along with Twice and Ive, it will be performing at NHK’s Red & White Year-End Song Festival.

StayC officially debuts in Japan with single

High Up Entertainment announced on Wednesday that the girl group StayC had made their debut in Japan with the tune “Poppy.”

The title single, which was previewed to fans on Monday at a debut presentation in Tokyo, is full of gorgeous yet cheesy energy and mixes with a catchy chorus, making it an instant smash.

This single will also feature a Japanese language cover of “ASAP,” the featured track from the group’s second single, “Staydom,” which was released in 2017.

The rookie girl group’s first EP, Stereotype, and second EP, Young-luv.com, have combined for 100 million Spotify streams since their debut in November 2020.

Along with Ateez, Tomorrow X Together, Itzy, and Enhypen, it was designated one of the “Five Rising Korean Artists to Know” by Grammy.com in May of 2016.
