On Friday, March 15, BTS member V made a triumphant return to his music career following a brief hiatus to join the South Korean military. This song is obviously an attempt to keep fans entertained while he does his national duty; it follows his debut solo album, Layover, which came out a few months ago.
More than 24 hours after its first release, V’s most recent single has become an even larger hit, adding to the track’s rapid success in the US market. On Saturday, March 16, “Fri(end)s” soared to the top of the iTunes chart. Among the most prominent, if not the most prominent, singles sales sites in the United States, V’s new single is currently the most popular song on that platform as of writing.

As is customary on Fridays, iTunes yesterday was brimming with thrilling new releases in addition to some rising favorites. Launching at No. 2 on the U.S.-focused tally, “Fri(end)s” narrowly missed the top slot, which was rather frustrating. At least initially, V couldn’t compete with Cardi B and her most recent single, so he had to settle for second place.
V surpasses Cardi in the iTunes list, while her most recent track “Enough (Miami)” starts to fall in the rankings. The rapper’s new track drops to No. 2 after beginning its stint on this chart in first position, trading places with the BTS star.

Currently, four different renditions of “Fri(end)s” are doing rather well on the iTunes charts. Three additional editions make it into the top ten, joining the primary take, which is new to the top spot. Additionally, at positions 8, 9, and 10, you may find the instrumental, slowed-down, and accelerated versions, respectively.
“Fri(end)s” is still doing well in its second day of sales. In the first few hours or days after being shared, many new releases do the best in terms of sales and streams. However, when they start to fall, especially very quickly, it usually means that the cut isn’t popular with anyone other than the artist’s superfans.

A high debut on the Billboard charts might be in store for “Fri(end)s” if sales keep going strong over the next five days. The song’s debut on the Digital Song Sales chart will almost surely be spectacular.
