The documentary series BTS Monuments: Beyond the Stars, which aims to give viewers a better understanding of the 7-member K-pop group’s meteoric ascension, has a plethora of new information.
On December 27, there will be two more episodes published and fans can look forward to learning more about Jin, J-Hope, Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook’s musical journey and uncovering hidden information about them.
From its humble beginnings as a bunch of rappers, the group blossomed into an international sensation, profoundly impacting idol culture. V discusses his choice to renew the contract and the group’s hiatus in the most recent episode.
Why did V of BTS leave HYBE in 2018?
In the second episode of the documentary series, Suga says that the band took a hiatus between 2018 and 2019. According to him, “I have a lot of people say that I have changed as a person since then.
” He adds, “From 2018 and going into 2019, that’s when I finally started to understand what position we were in.” He continues, “I began making music again, and I had the opportunity to reflect on how much more I could enjoy the process.” This occurred during a period of hiatus from the group.
The Layover singer then goes on to talk about how the band became more like a family throughout their melancholy period, drawing closer together and sharing joys and sorrows. According to him, “I really want our members to smile and be happy.”
Plus, he mentions that he signed the contract to make them laugh, even if it’s only for a second, because they’re all upset right now, regardless of their relationship with the agency.

For BTS 2018 was a Challenging Year
Because every member of BTS was dealing with their issues in 2018, the year was a difficult one for the group. The group’s meteoric rise wasn’t without sacrifice.
As J-Hope and Suga revealed in previous episodes, they were really close to breaking up because of all the strain they were under and the number of bogus charges of plagiarism they had to defend themselves against.
But what dragged the squad down that year were the members’ battles, which had an impact on their mental health in the group.
Everyone in BTS is now serving their country’s required military service in South Korea. Once all members, beginning with Jin in 2024, return, the Dynamite vocalists will reconvene in 2025. For more updates you can join us on our Twitter account.
