Big Hit Music informed fans of the forthcoming itinerary of BTS members Kim Taehyung, Kim Namjoon, Jimin, and Jungkook in a press statement issued on January 15, 2024. Shared on the South Korean social media site Weverse, the press announcement informed followers of BTS about the members’ military duty.
According to the announcement, tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the four individuals will finish their initial five-week military training. After the recruit training graduation ceremony, they will then begin their tasks at the training camp.
Deployment to assigned units occurs after troops finish their five-week basic training. But before being moved to the Army General Administration School, Kim Taehyung will complete an extra three weeks of instruction.
Subsequently, he will be sent to the Special Mission Unit of the Capital Defense Command, which he has specifically requested. Because of this choice, he will have to put in more time in training.
Many admirers, particularly those on X, took to social media after hearing about Kim Taehyung’s extra training to encourage him and wish him the best of luck. The fact that they missed him didn’t stop them from calling him “our captain” either.

Kim Taehyung of BTS has Graduated from his Basic Five-week Training
On December 11, 2023, Kim Taehyung and Kim Namjoon both enlisted for their necessary military service. He has sent in an application to the capital defense command’s Special Mission Unit, the only unit reporting directly to South Korea’s president.
At the corps headquarters, there is a military police force known as the SDT, which stands for Special Duty Team/Special Mission force. It has several important responsibilities, including the rapid reaction to crimes and violent incidents, counter-terrorism efforts, and the apprehension of deserters from the military.
On January 16, 2024, the trainees who enlisted on December 11, 2023, will have their finishing ceremony. Throughout the day, members of BTS and the other trainees will practice for the ceremony, which will be carried out under close supervision.
On the 18th, he will move to Army Administrative School in Yeongdong, North Chungcheong Province, where he will be trained for the second additional training for three weeks.
