One of the most well-known anime series in recent memory is Code Geass, but who was the show’s most popular character? Among anime fans, Code Geass is universally regarded as a classic. This is due in no small part to the compelling storyline and fully realized characters presented throughout the series. Some characters, like Nina, don’t do well with viewers, but that’s only because the program does such a great job of making you dislike them.
The main character of Code Geass is Lelouch Lamperouge (, Rurshu Ranperji). He is the Eleventh Prince of the Imperial House of Britannia and the Seventeenth in Line to the Throne. His original name was Lelouch vi Britannia (, Rurshu vi Britannia). Charles Zi Britannia is the son of the Britannian Emperor, and Marianne vi Britannia is his mother.
Lelouch Vi Britannia
Lelouch is the show’s main attraction and the most popular character on the site. Lelouch is not only exceptionally bright, but he also has the ability to command obedience simply by meeting someone’s gaze.
He has a soft spot for his loved ones and once fought to protect Suzaku, despite the fact that they were on opposing sides. Lelouch is also a strong leader because he conquered the world and then sacrificed himself to end the war and bring peace to the planet.
Although he is of Japanese ancestry, Suzaku chooses to fight for Britain. When they were kids, he was friends with both Lelouch and Nunally, and now he’s one of the best pilots in the series.
At the end of the series, Suzaku joins forces with Lelouch and is entrusted with his murder. If anyone in the cast is trying to make up for their wrongdoings, it would be the virtuous Suzaku.
C.C., the immortal girl who can grant Geass contracts, is the tritagonist and the catalyst for the series. Though her exact age remains unknown, we learn from flashbacks that she has spent at least 500 years in human form. Her abnormally long life rendered her emotionally distant and stoic, yet it did not diminish her intellect. C.C. has excellent perception; she tells Lelouch not to eat Cornelia’s bait in the Saitama Ghetto, for example
when even Lelouch fails to notice the trap. She makes a good call in deciding that Lelouch is the one to abolish the Geass Order and usher in a period of peace.
Kallen is Zero’s most trusted subordinate and the best pilot in the rebellion. Kallen, who is half Japanese, is desperate to free her homeland from the grip of Britain so that she can bring her mother home. Another girl who falls for Lelouch and sticks with him through thick and thin is Kallen.
Kallen, the closest rebel to Zero, pretends to be a student in order to stay under the radar. It is revealed that Kallen is proficient in hand-to-hand combat and plays unwell to get out of schoolwork so she can assist the Black Knights in their missions.
A girl named Shirley attended the same high school as Lelouch and Suzaku. The only girl Lelouch ever exhibited any romantic interest in, she was head over heels for him. Shirley was generous with her emotions, and it helped provoke Rolo to kill her. Despite having her memory erased, Shirley still remembered Loving Lelouche.
Shirley’s passion for Lelouch persisted even after he was responsible for the death of her father. She was so committed to being by Lelouche’s side that she was even willing to join the Black Knights in the end.
Jeremiah, who appears multiple times but is always referred to as “Orange Boy,” is a recurring character. Since he believes Japan is responsible for the deaths of Lelouch, Nunally, and the other royals that Lelouch is responsible for, he gladly takes up arms there despite his devotion to the royal family.
As soon as he found out Lelouch was Zero, he sided with him and was prepared to battle anyone who stood in their way. Jeremiah’s devotion to the real royal family, especially the prince and princess, borders on the irrational.
Lloyd, the eccentric scientist behind Lancelot, is well-known for his creation. He seems unconcerned with the ongoing fight and more interested in creating dramatic compositions. Lloyd appears to genuinely care for Suzaku and his colleagues, but his true passion lies in the scientific community.
Lloyd presents things in a highly flamboyant manner, giving off an air of genuine mad scientist-ness. Fans of the program have become fond of Lloyd in large part because he is one of the most eccentric characters there. What’s not to admire about a crazed scientist who constructs enormous mechs?
Euphemia Vi Britannia
Half-sister Euphemia, who succeeds Lelouch and Nunally as sub-viceroy of Japan, is Lelouch and Nunally. Suzaku wins Euphemia’s heart, and she longs to set the Japanese people free. After killing countless innocent people, she was killed by Lelouch’s Geass after he lost control of it despite his intense love for her.
Lelouch develops feelings for Rolo, his fictitious younger brother. After the main character’s memories are erased, Lelouch is put in Rolo’s care because he has a Geass that temporarily stops time.
The good Knightmare pilot Rolo was raised alone and sacrifices his life to see his big brother’s war through. An honorable act of atonement for the older brother he never truly got to know and for himself.
Nunnally vi Britannia
Lelouch’s sister Nunnally is the catalyst for his resistance to his nation. Despite being born with a disability, Nunnally is a good-hearted young woman who goes on to rule over Japan before Lelouch takes over the entire world.
Nunnally is the one who is charged with taking up the throne after the end of the show. Something that Lelouche took careful consideration in order to ensure both her safety and the safety of Japan.
