Following Kim Taehyung’s (V from BTS) selection as the brand’s 10th-anniversary model, the Korean media covered the popularity of Compose Coffee.
Multiple video advertisements featuring Taehyung were published in January by Compose Coffee. In the ads, he plays the part of a music composer who is served by a barista. Taehyung captivated the audience with his sophisticated persona and exceptional acting chops as he played two distinct roles.

Yu Kwang-Goeng is widely recognized as Korea’s leading commercial film director, and his involvement in the production of the advertisement video only served to increase its visibility.
One of the commercial ads shot up to the number one spot on YouTube’s trending videos list and garnered one million views on its first day of release. Just two weeks after its release, the video has amassed over 12 million views; as of February 5th, that number has risen to over 13.5 million.
The official Instagram account for @compose_coffee increased its followers by over 53% and the number of users of their app by about 3 million in the month following Taehyung’s announcement as their promotional model.
Word got out on February 1st, via various online communities and social media, that Taehyung’s Compose Coffee cup sleeves were available at select stores. Enthusiastic fans rushed to local retailers, with some choosing to place their orders online.

‘Compose Coffee’ saw a meteoric rise to the top of the real-time search ranking on ‘Baemin,’ the leading South Korean food delivery service, showcasing the ‘V effect’ in all its glory.
Taehyung has a significant impact on both commercial and public service announcement advertising. The members of BTS have been actively involved in promoting Seoul as a tourist destination since 2017.

The 2023 global campaign for Seoul Tourism, however, featured Taehyung as its only model. In just three weeks after its September premiere, the whole worldwide promotional video for 2023 Seoul Tourism, “Seoul Edition23,” amassed over 500 million views.
