Destiny 2 Season 18 Release Date Status And More Updates!

Due to the start of Season 18 the following week, the next significant update for Destiny 2 is just around the corner. In an uncommon move, Bungie has chosen to keep the season’s theme, specifics, and practically everything else about it a surprise until a Livestream that will take place hours before the season begins, indicating that there are some significant plot changes planned for Season 18.

Fortunately, we do know a few things, such as the start date of Season 18 and the several changes that the Arc 3.0 makeover will bring to Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. Here is all we currently know about Season 18 of Destiny 2.

A Report On Lightfall

Last year, on August 24, a few hours before Season of the Lost was released, Bungie held a Destiny 2 event where a number of developers spoke about the impending expansion and Season. The official presentation started with a description of the objectives for what the game should be and accomplish, as well as how it has changed over time, after introductions and small conversations.

This will probably be discussed in this year’s showcase given how much has changed, and Bungie will probably mention the issue of developer abuse in passing. After the quick introduction, two or more of the developers will almost certainly present a brief trailer for Lightfall, which will mostly serve as a preview of what’s to come and what the main focus of the expansion will be.

The Lightfall teaser might be shorter than The Witch Queen’s two-minute-long video given that there are still two Seasons to go before the expansion debuts. More developers are likely to have an impact on the themes of Destiny 2’s most recent expansion after a discussion about what the trailer depicts and assessing what this chapter means for the franchise as a whole.

Destiny 2 Season 18 Story

As mentioned above, Bungie is keeping the story for Season 18 a closely guarded secret, but the brief synopsis it published online did hint at something devastating happening this year. With the Witness closing in on the Traveler, an army of Pyramid Fleet ships surrounding the solar system, and other major threats still unaccounted for, Destiny 2 is laying more groundwork for the endgame of the Light and Darkness saga.

“It has arrived. As we prepare for fate to unfold, the people of the Last City look to the stars–to us–for hope,” the Season 18 description reads. “And while we have triumphed in the face of impossible odds before, this time feels different. But if there is to be no escape, our story will be one of courage, one of the legends.”

Arc 3.0, Season 18, and Matter

Given that Lightfall cannot realistically be the sole subject of the showcase, there are various scenarios that could occur. Bungie will probably upload a Season 18 and Arc 3.0 update trailer as a start unless information about those improvements is planned for upcoming TWABs that take place before the August showcase of this year.

It makes it likely that Bungie will stick to the same pattern as last year and release the first trailer for Season of the Lost right after talking about The Witch Queen because Season 18 of Destiny 2 is still unidentified and kept under wraps.

What Can We Expect From Season 18 Of Destiny 2?

Bungie will be giving us a tonne of material to complete, much like in previous Destiny 2 seasons. There will undoubtedly be numerous sandbox modifications, the majority of which were covered in this week’s TWAB. Be sure to check back as we’ll have the official patch notes for you, which will detail everything on update day.

The main themes that we can expect to see are that there will be a new season story section and a seasonal activity to go along with it. Additionally, the last light subclass change, Arc 3.0, will be unveiled to us.

A new Destiny 1 raid is the last thing we should anticipate for this season. There is a lot of speculation about which raid will return in the game, but only one of them, King’s Fall, actually makes sense. It absolutely matches the plot the best because we interacted with Savathûn, the Witch Queen, and heard different story beats about Oryx, the Taken King.

The raid should be quite true to the old Destiny 1 version, but like with Vault of Glass, it should be upgraded to account for our new power levels and the environment of Destiny 2.

We have that information for you. Next week, be sure to check back because we’ll make sure to have those available for you as the patch notes are released.
