Toyotarō’s Dragon Ball Super manga will pause with the next issue of V Jump, due in April. The magazine hasn’t said when the manga would restart publishing.
Previous interruption: In August 2022, the manga took a vacation to prepare for the next narrative, returning in December.
It later began the “Super Hero” arc, based on the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film, in March 2023.
Dragon Ball Super Anime Debuted in June 2015
Toyotarō’s manga adaptation of the Dragon Ball Super anime debuted in June 2015 on V Jump.
While it adheres to the anime’s plot, it also incorporates several unique elements and deviations.
Shueisha will release the manga’s 23rd volume on April 4. Viz Media releases the comic online alongside its Japanese debut, with the 21st compiled volume due out on May 14.

Remembering Akira Toriyama
Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, died on March 1, 2024 at the age of 68 from an acute subdural hematoma.
Toriyama’s masterpieces, including Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball, have inspired generations of fans worldwide, leaving an enduring legacy.
His influence has also extended to video game creation, particularly with classic franchises such as Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger.
Before his death, Toriyama worked on several projects, including the Dragon Ball Daima anime series, where he contributed to the screenplay and character designs.
In addition, his Sand Land manga has inspired an anime film and a worldwide anime series debut, as well as an upcoming game set to be released on April 26.
