As a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL), Haskins Jr. (born May 3, 1997, and died April 9, 2022) played for three seasons (NFL). His selection by the Cleveland Browns in the 2007 NFL Draft came in the third round. The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland was his high school, and he later attended and played collegiate football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Following an undrafted sophomore season, Haskins broke the Big Ten Conference’s single-season records for both yards and touchdowns, earning him the Sammy Baugh Trophy and the Kellen Moore Award. Because of inconsistency and work ethic issues, Haskins only lasted two seasons with the Washington Redskin after being selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The following off-season, he was killed when he was struck by a car. Prior to his death in 2022, he had signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as their backup quarterback 2021.

About Dwayne Haskins
When Haskins was in ninth grade, his family moved from Highland Park, New Jersey, to Potomac, Maryland, and he’s been there ever since. With 5,308 passing yards and 54 touchdowns in four seasons at Bullis School from 2013 to 2016, he was an outstanding quarterback. He had previously planned to attend Rutgers University and the University of Maryland to play college football. Still, he changed his mind after the dismissal of Maryland football coach Randy Edsall. Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers were all in South Florida working out with Haskins. He was struck and killed by a car early on Saturday morning.
For his part, Washington Redskins picked him 15th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft with the 15th pick of that year’s first-round selection. When Joe Theismann was a quarterback for the Washington Redskins in the 1980s, the team unofficially retired the number 7 from their uniforms. Haskins had been on the lookout for number 7, and he now had it. He signed a rookie contract with the Washington Redskins in May of this year for a total of four years.
