There Are Eight K-Pop Groups That Made Their Debuts Without A Leader. The people in charge of K-pop groups have a very big job to do. The role of the leader is very important, and most of the time, the leader is the one who makes decisions, communicates, and brings people together.
Some groups have more than one leader, and some have none at all. These last groups can do just fine without a leader. There is no official leader in these groups, but fans often call the oldest member the leader. Here are Eight K-Pop Groups that started out without a leader.
BLACKPINK
The girl group BLACKPINK from the company YG Entertainment is now known as the biggest girl group in the world. BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 without a leader. The group is made up of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa.
Lisa said during BLACKPINK’s guest appearance on “Knowing Brothers” that the group doesn’t have a leader because each of the four members is good at something and has some leadership qualities. Fans call Jisoo, who is the group’s oldest member, the unofficial leader.
KARD
KARD is a group with two male and two female members, made up of J.Seph, BM, Somin, and Jiwoo. They are all signed to DSP Media.

The group decided to start out without a leader, most likely because it is a mixed-gender group and all four members have some leadership qualities.
Miss A
When they were together, JYP Entertainment’s girl group miss A did not have a leader. The girl group was made up of Bae Suzy, Wang Feifei, Meng Jia, and Min. They are no longer together. This second-generation girl group was one of the first K-Pop groups to start out without a leader. They came out in 2010.
ONEUS
The K-Pop boy group ONEUS is managed by Wa Entertainment. They all agreed that they didn’t want a leader, so they started out in 2019 without one.

Ravn, the oldest member, left the group on October 27, 2022. There are now five people in the group. Fans used to think that Ravn was the group’s leader.
Viviz
Viviz is a girl group made up of Eunha, SinB, and Umji, who were all in “GFriend” before they joined Viviz. The group’s first show was on February 9, 2022.
SinB said that Viviz doesn’t have a leader because they still see Sowon as their only leader. Sowon used to be the leader of the girl group “GFriend,” which has since broken up.
JYJ
Kim Junsu, Kim Jae-joong, and Park Yoochun, who are now in JYJ, used to be in the boy band TVXQ, which was managed by SM Entertainment.
After fighting, the members left SM Entertainment and TVXQ and kept going as JYJ. The three people never chose a leader.

Purple Kiss
Purple Kiss is a K-Pop girl group with seven members and its own production company. It was started by RBW Entertainment. “Send love through different colors of music” is what their group name means.

On March 15, 2021, they made their official start. Purple Kiss said that they don’t have a leader on a Naver radio show. Even though it’s rare for a group with so many members to not have a leader, Purple Kiss works well without one.
