In addition to the release of his new album, ’30’s Club, former EXO member Tao also announced two upcoming shows in Guangzhou, China. However, not long after that, he cancelled a performance citing health concerns. A source indicated that the event had to be cancelled since the ticket sales were lower than projected, making it difficult to proceed with both concerts.
The rest of the concert continued as scheduled, although audiences seemed unimpressed. Tickets remained unsold until the day of the event despite Tao’s team drastically reducing the price from 368 yuan (about 51.81 USD) to 47.84 yuan (approximately 6.74 USD).
Recent dating rumors around Tao have been speculated to be a major factor in the loss of followers. There have been multiple speculations about a romantic relationship between Tao and Xu Yiyang, a former trainee of SM Entertainment, since the year 2020. They were frequently spotted out on dates and visits to each other’s residences, drawing unwanted attention to themselves.
It was reported last month that Tao had made a public declaration of love for Xu Yiyang in a Gangnam nightclub.
On a massive screen, Tao purportedly inscribed, “Love u Xu Yiyang,” a declaration of his love for Xu Yiyang. Online groups shared screenshots of the screen, and the public confession was generally accepted as fact thanks to the testimony of eyewitnesses.
