Facts About BTS Bangtan Boys That You Should Know. The seven-man Korean boy band BTS, often known as Bangtan Boys, comprises of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The band is part of Big Hit Music’s roster (part of HYBE Labels). BTS made their debut with the single “No More Dream” from the album “2 Cool 4 Skool” on June 13, 2013.

On June 15, 2022, Big Hit Music revealed that BTS will not be taking a break, but instead would be concentrating on releasing individual material. In 2018, BTS was the second best-selling artist in the world, with the second and third best-selling albums in the world, respectively. After selling over 14 million albums in South Korea, the group has topped the charts in 2019 with their album “Map of the Soul: Persona,” making them the best-selling artists in the country’s history.

A three-time winner of the Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist, BTS also took home the trophy for Top Duo/Group at the 26th annual ceremony. Time magazine has called the collective one of the 25 most important people online, has featured them on its international cover as “Next Generation Leaders,” and has included them in its list of the 100 most influential people alive today for 2019.

In 2018, the trio was recognised as Korea’s most powerful celebrity by Forbes Korea Power Celebrity. One in every 13 international visitors to South Korea comes to see BTS. The group is also credited for helping push worldwide music sales above $19 billion in 2018—a level not seen since 2006 thanks to the rise of digital downloads.

In addition to their anti-violence Love Me campaign in collaboration with UNICEF and address to the 73rd United Nations General Assembly, BTS also became the youngest recipient of the Order of Cultural Merit from the President of South Korea for their efforts to promote the Korean language and culture.
