An American media outlet called The Next Hint compiled a list of the top 12 K-pop stars of 2024 based on their popularity and achievements. In September 2023, Kim Taehyung released his much-anticipated solo album Layover.

A list of K-pop stars who have made a big impression on fans throughout the world and who have been enjoying more solo success this year was published on February 9 by The New Hint. After performers such as Jungkook, Lisa and Rosé of BLACKPINK, and BTS member Kim Taehyung, he topped the list.
Layover, V’s debut solo album, reached 1 billion listens on Spotify in the four months after its official release. It also broke the record for the shortest time for a solo K-pop album to reach 50 million listens on Spotify in the first 72 hours after its release.
In addition to showcasing his singing and performing abilities, the Slow Dancing singer is highly visible on social media, with 63.9 million Instagram followers.
Both the premium label CELINE and the diamond house Cartier have appointed him as an official global ambassador. Compose, a coffee chain in South Korea, appointed him their ambassador in December of last year.
