New previews of JTBC’s upcoming drama “Frankly Speaking” (formerly “No Secrets”) have been released!
In the new romantic comedy “Frankly Speaking,” Go Kyung Pyo plays the role of Song Ki Baek, a young news presenter who has worked tirelessly to establish a reputation for honesty and integrity. But after an electrifying accident leaves Song Ki Baek with a peculiar condition that forbids him from lying, his life takes a (literally) stunning turn.
Will Song Ki Baek’s News Program Become More Understandable In Drama?
Song Ki Baek introduces himself to fans on his news program in the first of two newly released teasers. “He comes from a good family, he’s good at his job, and he has good character,” someone says in a voiceover, describing him with admiration. Everything is in his hands. How come he seems so at ease all the time?
But all that calm disappears in an instant when Song Ki Baek has an injury that renders him physically incapable of lying or saying anything he doesn’t intend. During Song Ki Baek’s efforts to rebuild his life following the accident, an unseen individual informs him, “You’ve changed, you know that? You’ve gotten really strange!
Prior to his accident, Song Ki Baek was an expert “yes man” who would never dare tell his employer “no”; but, since the accident, he has lost all ability to even pretend to respect his boss. Song Ki Baek finally manages to yell out, “I don’t respect you!” after fumbling through the words. He continues, “I’m getting irritated,” which causes his employer to scream, “Get out!”
At the end of the teaser, Song Ki Baek says, “So I can’t say anything I don’t mean…” Is there a way to simplify this?! Am I going to be able to follow the news here? In the second preview, we meet On Woo Ju, a dedicated variety show writer (Kang Han Na), who would stop at nothing to ensure that his show is interesting for viewers.

Upon receiving the heartbreaking news that her program may be canceled, On Woo Ju embarks on a mission to get a substitute for a cast member who failed to appear.
Then Woo Ju realizes that Song Ki Baek may be a huge hit on variety shows and announces her intention to cast him. At first, Song Ki Baek appears to reject her, stating, “Instead of appearing on variety shows, my goal is to become an anchor that covers the truth thoroughly.”
“Are there instances where someone’s personality suddenly changes after being electrocuted?” On Woo Ju asks, perplexed, following Song Ki Baek’s mishap, signaling a shift in the situation.

As Song Ki Baek begins to speak his mind, his life spirals out of control. In one scene, he remarks to someone, “Do you not know how bad your feet smell?” He says, “I’m going to get revenge” in another. In any case. “Why are you doing this?” On Woo Ju asks Song Ki Baek, taken aback by his abrupt shift in demeanor. So insane, are you?”
