A drama adaptation of Jo Joo Hee’s popular webtoon “God’s Butler” (literal title) is in the works for television. The popular animation and webtoon maker Jaedam Media has announced a partnership with the drama production business The Content On to adapt ‘God’s Butler’ into a TV series.
In the modern-day tale “God’s Butler,” humans live side by side with immortal creatures who have been around for more than a thousand years. A long-dormant immortal named Hyeonmu unwillingly hires a butler, and the story follows our heroine, Eunhwa, as she reluctantly takes on this position. Eunhwa is caught up in a web of events, from mysterious assaults to meetings with other immortals, despite her initial resistance.
Readers are left with a plethora of questions as the novel progresses, and the secrets of the immortals and the abrupt attacks are revealed. At this very moment, “God’s Butler” is enjoying a meteoric rise to fame on the Naver Webtoon.
‘Scholar Who Walks the Night’ and other works by the acclaimed author Jo Joo Hee are the inspiration for this riveting tale. Having signed on to star in a drama version of “God’s Butler,” her status as a talented storyteller is further cemented.
