Satoshi Wagahara’s comedy-fantasy light novel was made into a 13-episode television anime by White Fox in Spring 2013, covering the first two volumes. In July 2014, Funimation broadcasted the anime with subtitles and published it on home video.

Wagahara first submitted the work to the 17th Dengeki Taisho awards in November 2010 under the title Maoujou wa Rokujou Hitoma! (The Devil’s Castle within a Six-tatami Room!) and won the Silver Prize.

Dengeki Bunko began printing the novel with pictures by 029 (Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de) in February of the following year, and the 21st and final volumes were released in August of that year. Hataraku Maou-Samavolumes !’s have sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide.

In December 2011, Akio Hiragi debuted a manga adaptation in Monthly Dengeki Daioh. On June 25, Kadokawa released the 18th volume.

In August 2014, Yen Press licenced the light novel and manga adaptations in English, and the 20th light novel volume and 17th manga volume were released on August 31 and November 30, respectively.

Hataraku Maou-Sama Season 2 Trailer And Key Visual

On December 12, 2021, the season 2 key visual was unveiled. Fans have noted that the art style for this season differs from that of the first. However, after seeing the teaser trailer, most people agree that just because something is unusual doesn’t imply it’s bad.

Sadao Maou’s demon form in the anime looks immensely terrifying in this new style, but it gives the series a more Isekai-Esque air.

Along with the key image, the official trailer for The Devil is a Part-Timer! season 2 was released. It built on the teaser trailer by giving viewers a clearer idea of what to expect in the upcoming new season.

Hataraku Maou-Sama Season 2 Plot

In the courtyard of the Devil’s Castle, a doorway opens (a tiny walk-up). A tiny girl emerges from it, calling the Devil King “father” and the Hero “mother.” The discovery that Maou and Emi had such a relationship astounds Ashiya and Chiho, but no one is more stunned than the two new “parents.”

Will Maou, the breadwinner, be able to handle child-rearing? Will Emi’s romantic aspirations be dashed as a result of this?

Fans of anime will have to wait till The Devil is a Part-Timer is out! Season 2 will be released on this date, so stay tuned to see what happens next. Keep an eye out!

The Devil Is A Part-Timer Action

The Demon Lord Satan has attempted to conquer humanity with an army of demons in the world of Ente Isla. But, just as he is about to succeed, Hero Emilia, mankind’s champion, foils his schemes, compelling him to withdraw through a portal that goes to a place unknown to him, Earth.

Without any understanding of the universe, Satan stumbles onto the modern-day city of Tokyo with his trusty servant Alsiel. They get some information from a police officer despite being well out of their depth, but Satan still has one more problem: money.

He disguises himself as Sadao Maou, a human who lives in an apartment and works part-time at the fast-food restaurant MgRonald’s, to subsist with his severely weakened skills. Sadao aspires to become a full-time employee at his profession, believing that it would be a step forward in his conquests, not only of Ente Isla but also of Earth.

As he goes about his daily routine—his job, his house, and his relationships—things start to look up for the formerly all-powerful demon. However, Emilia, the hero who drove him out of Ente Isla, appears unexpectedly, causing a tremendous setback.
