Kim Hyun-ah, better known by her stage name Hyuna or HyunA, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper, and model. She first came to public attention when she joined the Wonder Girls in February 2007.

Upon departing, Hyuna quickly became a member of the Cube Entertainment female group 4Minute. After releasing their debut album in June 2009, the members of the girl group 4Minute soon gained widespread attention. Hyuna started her solo career in 2010 with what she terms “performance-oriented songs.”

Their debut solo effort, “Change,” reached #2 on the Gaon Digital Chart in South Korea. In 2011, Hyuna released her debut extended play Bubble Pop!, which introduced her to a wider public.

The music video for the song has amassed over 100 million views, making her the most-watched female solo artist in K-pop history. More than three million digital copies of the title track were sold.

Later that year, she recorded the hit single “Trouble Maker” with an ex-member of Beast Hyunseung under the moniker Trouble Maker. Her second extended play, Melting, featuring the top-charting single “Ice Cream,” was released in 2012 after she appeared in a popular duet cover of Psy’s global smash “Gangnam Style.”

Her subsequent EPs, A Talk and A+, produced the hit singles “Red” and “Roll Deep.” Her first concert tour, The Queen Is Back, followed the release of her fifth EP, Awesome, in the middle of 2016. Before the release of her sixth EP, Following (2017), she collaborated with fellow Pentagon members Hui and E’Dawn to form the group Triple H.
