Even though summer hasn’t quite arrived, Chicago and its suburbs have already started their concert season, and for one event this weekend at Rosemont’s Allstate Arena, the buzz is quite real. Numerous K-pop fans have been camped out close to the venue since earlier this week in an effort to get first dibs on general admission wristbands to see South Korean rapper and producer Agust D, who performed at the Allstate Arena on Wednesday and has two more shows scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
“We’ve actually been camping out since Sunday,” one camper told NBC 5. “It’s his first ever solo tour. So we’re just waiting in line to get our wristbands for tomorrow’s show.”
Agust D, commonly known as SUGA from the Grammy-nominated Boy Band BTS, has a sold-out three-night run at the Allstate. The objective is to be first in line when the doors open and as near the stage as possible. Those that are camped out already have tickets.
Numerous fans can be seen lining up and down the sidewalk close to the Allstate in pictures and videos taken at the location with tents and other camping equipment.

“We already have our tickets and it’s completely sold out,” another camper said. “This is just so we have a good spot when we enter the venue tomorrow. And you know, first number in, first to go, and so we’re going to be 163. And so we came out just so we have a good spot. And there’s like, two blocks worth of people here — I would say now, probably 300.”

Hundreds of BTS Fans Camp Out at Allstate Ahead of Sold-Out Agust D Show https://t.co/bGUMfjZIQI

BTS announced in June 2022 that they would take a break after spending over ten years as a group. Several ensemble members, including j-hope, who gave a performance at Lollapalooza last summer, have embarked on solo tours. Last month, SUGA’s solo tour began with two concerts at New York’s Belmont Park. Only five visits are planned in the United States, out of the total 10 cities, and the Allstate was selected.
“We’re camping out for the Agust D concert tomorrow and he’s just a guy from BTS group,” another fan told NBC 5 early Friday morning.
