Following protests from s*xual minorities, IU’s EDAM Entertainment announced on January 19, 2024, that the next single featuring Taehyung will be renamed from Love Wins to Love Wins All.
The LGBTQIA+ community was very outraged when IU first revealed her pre-release song Love Wins. Members voiced their displeasure that the actress watered down the community’s pride parade theme, “Love Wins,” by using it inappropriately.

Some internet users allegedly accused Love Wins of adopting a word that became popular in 2015 with the legalization of same-s*x weddings, which started the charges around the movie. So, to commemorate the event, followers began using hashtags such as #LoveWins. The LGBTQIA+ community in South Korea has made Love Wins their own, and it’s something they’re quite proud of.

The phrase first appeared in reaction to June 26, 2025, official legalization of same-s*x marriage by the US Supreme Court. During pride parades around the world, it has been utilized by the LGBTQIA+ community to show solidarity.
Some people are against using the phrase for IU’s next single because of the poster, which shows people of different genders in loving relationships. However, many think the poster doesn’t signify anything bad for the LGBTQIA+ group. Their recommendation was to wait to make a decision until the music video was released.

But when EDAM Entertainment revealed that IU’s upcoming single would be titled “Love Wins All” instead of “Love Wins,” the agency explained why the change was necessary, saying:
Love Wins All, IU’s upcoming single starring Kim Taehyung, has a new title, and fans are ecstatic about it. They think it shows that IU values fan feedback and would never disregard their opinions. Although some thought it was pointless to alter the name, others expressed their excitement for the impending music video with or without the modification.

Following the allegations, IU renamed her planned single starring Taehyung to Love Wins All, and fans responded by reacting negatively. A synopsis for the IU’s forthcoming track has also been made public.
