Allure Korea has released a breathtaking photo shoot with Joo Won and Kwon Nara from the upcoming ENA drama “Midnight Studio”!
The intriguing and enigmatic “Midnight Studio” follows the lives of two characters, lawyer Han Bom (Kwon Nara) and irritable photographer Seo Ki Joo (Joo Won), who operates a professional photo studio that caters exclusively to the dead.
The plot follows their encounters with the night guests as they navigate the realms of life and death. The interview that followed the photo shoot included questions regarding “Midnight Studio” and the drama, as well as personal anecdotes and opinions from Joo Won and Kwon Nara.
“I enjoy this drama because it contains comedy, cuteness, and sadness,” Joo Won said when asked about the feeling on set. On set, everything was the same. I don’t think I’ve been [filming] in such a welcoming environment in the past decade.
Particularly, every day, the four of us—Kwon Nara, Yoo In Soo, and Eum Moon Suk—share meals and talk on video chat. Hey, I just got a call from Eum Moon Suk. He chuckles. The drama’s character description states that Seo Ki Joo is a solo photographer whose family has been legally obligated to shoot the dead for many generations.
But he has a curse that says he can only live to be 35 years old. “At first, I couldn’t understand what it feels like to die at the age of 35,” Joo Won said when asked if he ever considered death while filming the drama. However, by the time I had only a few days to live [during the drama], I felt incredibly odd. “Am I really going to die?” I thought to myself.
What Sheds Light on the Close Relationship Between the Main Characters in ‘Midnight Studio’?
“I had a dream of becoming a professor,” Joo Won explained when asked why he decided to go to graduate school. Being occupied with filming prevented me from graduating. But I still hope to give it a go eventually. He elaborated, saying, “I wanted to share what I felt with others since I majored in theater and film in high school and university.”
“Did you know that when you search for ‘Midnight Studio’ you are asked to verify that you are an adult?” Kwon Nara questioned playfully to begin their interview.
In response to the query, Kwon Nara said, “When I told people that the title is ‘Midnight Studio,’ everyone seemed very amused.” This made her giggle. They ask, “Oh, is that what it means?” after I tell them it refers to a nighttime photography studio.
Growing up in the same Bundang district of Seoul, Kwon Nara and Joo Won were neighbors. Kwon Nara revealed, “We always eat together and video call each other.” This revelation shed light on the closeness of the relationship between the four main players.
The normal crew at the photo studio consists of Yoo In Soo, Eum Moon Suk, Joo Won, and me, the fourth member. Being this close with other performers is something I’ve never experienced before. Having frequent, in-depth conversations and honing our chemistry together is a delight.

If I were to die, who would I most want to see? Kwon Nara continued. In the past, it would have been my loved ones, but today it’s my new puppy. My dog, Kwan Hodoo, with whom I share a home, is the one I’ll miss the most. March 11 at 10 p.m. KST is when “Midnight Studio” will make its debut. Keep watching!
