The success of Jungkook’s solo work is unprecedented. On Monday (Oct. 30), Spotify announced that the BTS superstar’s “Seven” featuring Latto has been the fastest song in Spotify history to surpass 1 billion streams. It’s been 108 days since the song’s first release, but now that it’s broken into the billions on Spotify, it’s finally made it onto the service’s official playlist.

Aside from being the highest-charting debut by a single Korean act, Jungkook’s Latto collaboration also debuted at No. 3 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, published on July 21. Also, as of the 29th of July, “Seven” was the most popular new entry on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. This was Latto’s first No. 1 and the first time a member of BTS had topped the charts with a solo effort.

This success follows “Seven” featuring Latto’s No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and No. 3 debut on the Official U.K. Singles Chart in July 2023, the latter of which was “the highest-charting debut by a solo Korean act.”
The label that represents BTS announced in 2022 that the group would be going on hiatus to allow its members to serve in the South Korean military. Since then, HYBE’s efforts have been concentrated on helping Jimin, Jin, Suga, and Jungkook break out on their own. However, the K-pop group has continued to release post-hiatus singles like “Take Two.”
Viviz is also joining the Spotify hit list songs with their latest song Maniac:
Last week, the 26-year-old musician dropped two unexpected remixes: “Seven” featuring Latto (mastered by David Guetta) and “3D” with Jack Harlow (remixed by MK).
On Friday, November 3, Jung Kook will release his first solo album titled Golden. “Known as the ‘Golden Maknae’ (‘golden youngest’ in Korean) of BTS, Jung Kook is set to unveil a new release with his unique timbre that will captivate listeners worldwide,” reads a press statement announcing the endeavour.
