The debut solo album by BTS’s Jungkook, titled “GOLDEN,” broke an Asian record on worldwide music streaming services. According to data collected by Spotify, the world’s largest streaming platform, Jungkook’s solo album ‘GOLDEN’ received 42,754,939 streams (before filtering) on its first day of release, which occurred on November 4 (Korean time).
With the most streams ever for a debut album by an Asian solo artist on Spotify, ‘GOLDEN’ has made new records. By having nine songs in the top 10 of iTunes’ global list at the same time, Jungkook made history as the first Asian artist to do so.

The title track from the ‘GOLDEN’ album, ‘Standing Next to You,’ topped the worldwide iTunes song chart for the date of November 3. The album also featured eight other songs that charted: ‘Hate You,’ ‘Yes or No,’ ‘Shot Glass of Tears,’ ‘Closer to You,’ ‘Please Don’t Change,’ ‘Too Sad to Dance,’ ‘Somebody,’ and ‘3D‘.
Furthermore, all ten songs from the album entered the ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart, with ‘Standing Next to You’ at No. 2 and ‘3D’ at No. 7, ‘Hate You’ at No. 16 and ‘Yes or No’ at No. 18, and ‘Please Don’t Change’ at No. 23 and ‘Closer to You’ at No. 24.

Meanwhile, ‘GOLDEN,’ launched at 1 PM on November 3, soared directly to ‘Double Million Seller’ status after selling more than 2 million copies within 5 hours, according to Hanteo Chart, a domestic album sales tally site. Jungkook made a stunning new record for the biggest first-day sales for a K-pop solo artist, moving to the top of the initial chodong (first-week sales) rankings on the day of release.
