Jungkook’s ‘Dreamers’ Becomes Fastest Solo Single: The song “Dreamers” by Jungkook has become an international phenomenon, topping charts and shattering previous sales records. As of today, it holds the record for the most streaming in the history of K-pop/Korean solo music at 50M with only 13 days since its release.
Left And Right by Jungkook reached 50 million streaming in just 10 days, making him the fastest K-pop solo artist ever. “Dreamer” is the fastest solo single by a K-pop soloist to surpass 50M streams, and it already holds the records for most streams in a debut week and debut day.
Originally from South Korea, singer Jeon Jung-kook goes by the stage name Jungkook (sometimes spelled Jung Kook). Youngest member and lead singer of South Korean boy band BTS.
As part of the BTS discography, Jungkook has released three solo singles: “Begin” (2016), “Euphoria” (2018), and “My Time” (2020), all of which have reached the top 20 on the Gaon Digital Chart in South Korea.

In addition, his song “Stay Alive” was featured in the BTS-inspired webtoon 7Fates: Chakho. His contribution to American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth’s 2022 single “Left and Right,” which achieved number 22 on the U.S.
Billboard Hot 100, was well received. Later that year, with the release of “Dreamers,” he made history as the first South Korean musician to contribute to the official FIFA World Cup soundtrack; he later sang the song at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony.
Additionally, Jungkook‘s solo recordings have done well on Spotify’s rankings, with his songs “Dreamers,” “Stay Alive,” and “Left and Right” all launching higher than any other Korean solo artist.
His immediate family includes his parents and an older sibling. He went to the Busan schools of Baekyang Elementary and Baekyang Middle.

After deciding to pursue training, he enrolled at Seoul’s Singu Middle School. Back when he was a kid, Jungkook wanted to be a badminton player, but after hearing G-Dragon perform “Heartbreaker” on TV, he decided he’d rather be a singer instead.
In 2011, Jungkook went to Daegu, South Korea, to try out for the talent show Superstar K. Even though he wasn’t picked, seven production firms wanted to cast him. After seeing RM, now a bandmate and BTS leader, perform, he decided to join Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee.
He spent the summer of 2012 getting dance instruction from Movement Lifestyle in Los Angeles in preparation for his debut. He debuted in August 2012, but before that, he was featured in the music video for Jo Kwon’s single “I’m Da One” and had previously worked as a backup dancer for the group Glam.
