K-Pop Band BTS 10th Anniversary: 10 Years Of Melody, Moves, And Memories

BTS is a decade old now! In Seoul, there is a party for fans of the K-pop boy band BTS. Fans from all over the world met in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, on Saturday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of K-Pop boy band BTS’s debut.

Two of the band’s seven members currently serve in the military, so the band is on a brief break. However, that didn’t stop a lot of celebrations this week for the band’s fans, who call themselves “ARMY.”

The university students came from Scotland all the way to Seoul to soak up the seven-member band’s energy. They’re not the only ones, though. Thousands of fans are coming to the city to join the celebrations, and millions more are doing so online.

K-pop Band BTS 10th Anniversary

At the “BTS 10th Anniversary FESTA” in Seoul’s Han River Park on Saturday, tens of thousands of fans looked at a history wall, stage outfits, and sculptures, many of which were purple, the band’s signature color. Fans danced under shady trees while hit songs played in the background or talked about their favorite band members:

“Through this event, I think we can get experience of how we build up our connection with BTS and ARMY,” said Audrey Lintner, a 28-year-old master’s degree student from Sri Lanka who was attending the event.

On June 17, 2023, in Seoul, South Korea, K-pop boy band BTS fans meet at Yeouido Park for the “BTS Festa.” The K-pop group BTS has been together for ten years, and “BTS Festa” is a celebration of that. The band is on break while its members do their required military service.

It’s been 10 years since BTS was first introduced as a band. Since then, they’ve grown into a truly global phenomenon, breaking more than 20 Guinness World Records and winning a number of global awards. They’ve also pushed for more Asian artists to be represented in the global music industry, and other K-pop groups have followed in their footsteps.

They hope to get back together in 2025. Later, at the party, BTS’s leader RM read fan texts, performed, and talked to Jung Kook and V on the phone. RM told fans:

“Time goes by so fast. Everything has changed, and I’ve changed a lot. I’m not sure what I’m going to be doing with what feelings on the 15th and 20th anniversaries, but my love for you won’t change.”

The celebrations ended with a fireworks show on the Han River. According to the Yonhap news agency, organizers, local police, and fire officials estimated that about 400,000 people were there by 9 p.m. (1200 GMT).

“Thank you so much for giving us great music and performances for the past 10 years,” said Kim Hye-won, a 30-year-old who has been a fan since 2018. “I’ll continue to be an ARMY for 10, 20, 30 years, so I hope you as artists, singers, extend a lot of positive influence for a long, long time.”

The city of Seoul hopes that the events, which will last about two weeks, will bring more tourists. The town has named more than a dozen places that have something to do with BTS.
