Fans of “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” have been in the dark about when they’ll learn more about the blooming romances on the rom-com-style anime, just like the main characters.
According to Anime News Network, “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” is based on the best-selling manga of the same name, which was ninth on the list of top-selling volumes in Japan for 2019. Since then, the show has become a hit with both Japanese and English-speaking fans.
The first and second seasons of the series, which include epic cartoon fights of passion to represent Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane’s courtship, have been acknowledged by Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards event, with Season 2 even winning Best Comedy in 2021.
Season 3 has looked like a foregone conclusion to fans of the show, given the immense popularity of the source material, the anime’s ongoing critical acclaim, and the amount of storey left in the saga. While A-1 Pictures has stated that more episodes are on the way, viewers are still unsure when they may expect the next instalment.
Here’s everything you need to know about “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” Season 3’s release date, cast, and plot.
Kaguya Sama Season 3: Release Date
Fans of “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” got the news they were hoping for when the series’ official Twitter account revealed that Season 3 would be released on October 25, 2020, via Funimation.
However, there have been no updates since that announcement, so anyone hoping to learn when the new episodes will air will have to rely on educated guesswork.
In May 2018, Anime News Network originally reported on the announcement of a “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” anime. No release date was mentioned, as was the case with the Season 3 announcement, however, the series premiered seven months later, in June 2019.
Season 2 was confirmed in October 2019 and premiered in Japan seven months later, in April 2020, according to Anime News Network.
However, seven months have passed since the announcement on October 25, 2020, and the studio has yet to provide an update on when the show will premiere.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to say how the ongoing worldwide COVID-19 epidemic has impacted the creation of “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War,” but the series could be ready for release in the fall or winter of 2021. If it misses either of those release dates, it will most likely premiere in early 2022.

Who Will Be In The Cast Of Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War Season 3?
While fans can’t be sure what’s causing the third season’s delays, some Reddit users have speculated that it could be due to the show’s devotion to using the same voice actors.
Fans should have a solid notion of who will appear in “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” Season 3 if the series has slowed down production to ensure that all of the characters are voiced by the same actors.
If the production waits until all of the same actors are available before dubbing the upcoming season, Alexis Tipton will portray Kaguya, while Aaron Dismuke would play Miyuki, her romantic interest and occasional opponent.
Jad Saxton will reprise his role as Kaguya’s associate Chika, while Austin Tindle will reprise his role as Yu, the reclusive underclassman with a striking emo hairstyle.
Amanda Lee, who also acts as the singer AmaLee, may repeat her role as Kaguya’s long-time personal assistant Ai, while Bryn Apprill will most likely reprise her role as her personal confidant Nagisa.
Ian Sinclair as the show’s narrator and Brandon McInnis as Tsubasa — also known as Kashiwagi’s lover — round out the projected English dub cast.

What Will The Plot Of Kaguya-Same: Love Is War Season 3 Be About?
While “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” stays mostly true to the original manga, it does so in chronological order rather than the order in which the events of the plot are presented in the source material.
This is due to the manga’s extensive usage of flashbacks to specific events in Kaguya’s and other characters’ pasts, which are subsequently incorporated into the anime for a more linear tale.
On Reddit, one fan even created a handy graph that shows which chapters are included in which Seasons 1 and 2 episodes. Chapters 100 and 101, which comprise the “Cell Phone Arc,” were the final major sections of the manga that Season 2 addressed.
As a result, fans may anticipate seeing events like the midterm examinations from Chapter 105, the rap fight from Chapter 108, and possibly even the many Christmas parties from Chapters 149 to 156 shown in Season 3, among many more.

Recap Of The Events Before Kaguya-Sama Season 3
Seasons 1 and 2 of Kaguya-sama include spoilers.
The Shuchiin Academy student council is introduced in the first season, with president Miyuki Shirogane, vice president Kaguya Shinomiya, secretary Chika Fujiwara, and treasurer Yuu Ishigami.
The four frequently find themselves in close quarters with one another, whether for business or amusement and become deep bonds as a result of their numerous misadventures.
Kaguya, who was reared by the obnoxious and ultra-wealthy Shinomiya family, is torn between her upbringing as a cold and calculated upper-class maiden and her inner wants to hang out with friends and fall in love like a normal girl.
She exhibits tiny signals of rebellion throughout the season, culminating in her abandoning her family during summer vacation to watch fireworks with her student council pals.
Unfortunately, due to the traffic bottleneck and delays, she missed the fireworks and was on the verge of passing out—until Miyuki came to her rescue. The four cram into a taxi and race to another prefecture, where they finally see the fireworks, but Kaguya only sees Miyuki.
Despite the apparent romantic undertones, Kaguya and Miyuki’s relationship remains largely intact in season 2. The student council, however, disbands when they enter their second year, and elections for a new council begin.
Miyuki resolves to run for president again, despite the fact that the position is usually reserved for their juniors. Miko Iino, Miyuki’s fierce and passionate opponent, appears in the run-up to the election.
Despite Miyuki’s victory, which secures Kaguya’s spot on the student council for another year, the council is impressed by Miko and offers her a seat as the auditor.
The focus of the season then changes away from the duo’s conflicts and toward their efforts to assist Yuu, their junior and the treasurer of the student council. Despite being anti-social, Yuu gradually gains confidence, eventually joining the Academy’s cheerleading squad and finally letting go of a painful experience.
The manga is still continuing strong, with 253 chapters released as of this writing. There are 24 physical volumes available, containing chapters 1 through 241.
