BTS's Kim Taehyung Impresses as 'Elite Trainee' in Military Training

Kim Taehyung, better known as V of BTS, maintains his impressive military career. Out of 200 students, Taehyung and RM were named two of six “elite trainees” of the “27th Recruit Training Regiment” on January 16. They were recognized for their outstanding performance throughout the five weeks of training.

Last month, Taehyung seemed a little heavier than usual, which made me think of his aim to gain 85 kg (61 kg) of muscle while serving. Starting on December 11, 2023, they enlisted and have since completed basic military training before being assigned to their respective groups.

The following are the requirements listed by the Nonsan Training Center for selection as an elite trainee, and their fans were ecstatic with their success:

Curl-ups: more than 86 in 2minutes
Push-ups: more than 72 in 2 minutes
Run 1.5 km within 5 minutes and 28 seconds
Run 3 km within 12 minutes and 30 seconds
Zero-point shooting 16 shots out of 20

Prior to his enlistment, Taehyung gained widespread attention for being one of the rare K-pop stars to have applied to and been accepted into the Special Duty Team, a highly selective counter-terrorism squad renowned for its intense training. Taehyung has been set for three weeks of intensive training.

But first, from January 18th through February 8th, he must complete an extra three weeks of instruction at the Army General Administration School before he can join the Special Forces.

Taehyung will enroll in Army General Administration School on Thursday to undergo an additional 3 weeks of training since he opted to enlist in the special forces

He kept his demeanor solemn throughout the award ceremony until he was accompanied by his parents as he accepted the trophy, and then he couldn’t help but smile. Shared by relatives of other trainees, a plethora of photos and videos documenting the graduation ceremony quickly became popular online.
