Lee Felix struggled to break free from his parents’ disapproval of his aspirations as a famous K-pop idol. Coming of age in a conventional Asian household was challenging, according to Lee Felix.
‘Stray Kids,’ a Korean boy band, features Lee Yong-Bok, better known as ‘Lee Felix.’ He does lead dancing moves, raps, and sings in the band.
He spent much of his childhood in Australia, where he also finished high school, despite his Korean birth. Aspired to be a K-pop star, he eventually relocated to South Korea.
His career started at the age of 22 when he appeared on the JYP Entertainment TV show “Stray Kids. Hellevator, its debut album, was released in 2017 after swiftly attracting a lot of attention.
They made their official debut in January of 2018 after releasing a mixtape, and they officially identified themselves in March of the same year. Three additional albums, numerous singles, and a plethora of music videos were released by the band.

Mr. Lee, Lee Felix’s father, was an advocate for his son’s taekwondo training. In due time, Felix not only mastered taekwondo but also garnered multiple accolades for his efforts.
Felix continued to participate in taekwondo even though he didn’t enjoy it as much as music—all because he couldn’t say no to his father. Eventually, though, he decided he no longer wanted to do it.
Lee was rather adamant about returning to Korea after realizing his ambition to be a K-pop artist. Lee Felix’s parents were pleased that he was returning to his own country, but they were not on board with his ambitions to become a K-pop star. They forbade their children from participating in anything they sincerely disliked because of their strong religious beliefs.

In an interview, Lee discusses the challenges he had when trying to resolve issues with his family early in his career. According to an interview with Lee Felix:
I would show them my work and they wouldn’t reply me back. It was very hard convincing my parents that this is what I love and want to do for the rest of my life.
He continued by saying that his parents had heard about the suicides, drug overdoses, fan bullying, and emotional abuse of K-pop stars.
The Felix family always dreamed of Lee being a successful musician or taekwondo practitioner in the elite entertainment sector. Their child’s involvement in K-pop was not in line with their expectations.
Lee freely admits that he has upset his parents’ sentiments with his decisions, but he also says that being a strict Catholic followed by his parents made him feel stifled.
