The iconic Korean series “Chief Inspector” ran for 18 seasons (from 1971 to 1989) and reached an astounding peak of 70% ratings during its prime, and “Chief Detective 1958” will act as a predecessor to that series.
In contrast to the original show’s 1970s and 1980s (the modern era), “Chief Detective 1958” will take place in 1958, a full decade earlier.
The drama will center on Park Young Han (Lee Je Hoon), a dedicated investigator who has an impressive track record of apprehending small-time criminals.
He forms a bond with three captivating coworkers and strives to challenge the accepted conventions of corruption. Seo Eun Soo will portray Jongnam Seorim’s lovely and well-informed proprietor, Lee Hye Joo.
New stills show Lee Hye Joo and Park Young Han’s initial interaction. Lee Hye Joo, owner of a bookstore, is winding down her day late at night when Detective Park Young Han, wearing an agitated look, storms in and displays his police badge.
