Kadokawa made a big reveal on Thursday, March 21, 2024, by dropping the first promotional video for their new TV series, “Medalist” anime.
They also announced that the show will hit screens in January 2025.
While they spilled the beans on the Japanese broadcast details, we’re still waiting to hear about international streaming options.
Since the series won’t be out for almost a year, we’ll likely get more details closer to the release date.
About the Series
“Medalist” anime is based on a popular manga about Olympic ice-skating by Tsurumaikada.
It’s been captivating readers since it first appeared in Monthly Afternoon magazine back in May 2020.

Medalist Anime Cast
The promotional video not only revealed the release window but also introduced two new cast members:
Kana Ichinose as Hiakru Kamisaki and Yuma Uchida as Jun Yodaka. They’ll join Natsumi Haruse as Inori Yuitsuka and Takeo Otsuka as Tsukasa Akeuraji.
Yasutaka Yamamoto is directing the anime at ENGI studios, with Jukki Hanada handling the series composition and screenplay.
Chinatsu Kameyama is in charge of character design, while Yuki Hayashi is composing the music. There’s a whole team of talented folks making sure everything looks and sounds just right.
