Meghan Trainor Net Worth: American artist, singer, and producer Meghan Trainor has won a Grammy. Her breakthrough came with “All About That Bass,” which topped the charts in 2014. Since then, she’s had a very successful career.
Meghan Trainor Early Life
Meghan Elizabeth Trainor was born in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on December 22nd, 1993. Her parents, Kelli and Gary Trainor are jewelers. Ryan and Justin are her brothers. At the age of six, she began performing in her family’s Methodist church. Her dad played the organ too. With her family’s encouragement, she began to use the digital music creation tool GarageBand to compose and record her own songs.
When Trainor was just a teen, she joined the cover band Island Fusion. Her family included members of the band: mom, dad, and Justin, her younger brother. When she was in middle school, she and her family relocated from Nantucket to North Eastham, Massachusetts. She attended Nauset Regional High School for four years and participated in jazz choir, jazz band, and trumpet ensembles. You may also read Todd Gurley
Meghan Trainor Career
From the time she was fifteen until she was seventeen, Trainor composed, recorded, produced, and performed all of her own music, which she then released independently. She released “Meghan Trainor” in 2009, “I’ll Sing with You” in 2011, and “Only 17” in 2013. All three albums were her own creation (2011).

As of that same month in 2010, she had also released the song “Take Care of Our Soldiers,” with all proceeds going to the nonprofit Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops and the United Services Organizations (USO). After graduating from high school in 2012 and taking part in the Berklee College of Music Summer Performance Program in 2009 and 2010, Trainor was offered a full scholarship to attend the school.
Instead, she chose to sign with Big Yellow Dog Music, a music publishing company situated in Nashville. After meeting her at a music festival, she pleased Al Anderson, a former member of NRBQ, enough that he suggested her to Big Yellow Dog. The success of Big Yellow Dog was the beginning of Trainor’s career as a paid songwriter.

She began her career as a songwriter instead of a recording artist because, among other things, she didn’t believe in her own abilities as a performer. In this time period, she relocated from Nantucket to Nashville, where she wrote songs for artists like Hunter Hayes, Rascal Flatts, and Sabrina Carpenter.
Before the year was over, Trainor and producer Kevin Kadish worked together on the song “All About That Bass.” They submitted the track to various record labels, but nobody was interested. After she sang it for Epic Records’ CEO L.A. Reid, she was quickly signed. With its release on June 30, 2014, “All About That Bass” immediately gained a large fan base.
Not only did the music video go viral, but the song itself stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive eight weeks. With 11 million copies sold worldwide, it was awarded diamond status by the RIAA. Incredibly, “All About That Bass” reached the top spot on the charts in a whopping 58 different countries.
Following the popularity of “All About That Bass,” Trainor released her first EP, titled simply “Title,” in September 2014. Her second single, “Lips Are Movin,” was released in October of 2014. Like “All About That Bass,” it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and had a retro sound. Before the release of her first major label record, all three of Trainor’s previously self-released albums were pulled from shelves.
She released her full-length debut titled “Title” on January 9, 2015, succeeding her self-titled EP of the same name. Despite negative reviews from some quarters, the album debuted atop the US Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. That Bass Tour, Trainor’s debut headline run, kicked off in February 2015 with support from Australian band Sheppard.
In August of that year, Trainor underwent surgery after being plagued by fears of a vocal cord hemorrhage for the rest of the year. At the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, held in February 2016, Trainor was named Best New Artist. In May of 2016, she dropped “Thank You,” her second full-length studio album.
The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum. Some of her earlier albums are “Treat Myself” (2020) and “A Very Trainor Christmas” (2020).
