When Will Money Heist Berlin Be Released on Netflix?
Money Heist Berlin will be released on Netflix on December 29, 2023. The series will consist of eight episodes, each lasting around 50 minutes. The series was created by Álex Pina, the same creator of Money Heist, and produced by his company Vancouver Media in collaboration with Atresmedia.

What Are the Trailers and Teasers for Money Heist Berlin?
Berlin has had numerous trailer and teaser releases on Netflix, providing viewers a preview of what to anticipate from the upcoming series. Why Was Berlin Killed in Part 2 and Why Did He Return?
Berlin (Andrés de Fonollosa) was one of the most popular characters in the Netflix series Money Heist, portrayed by Pedro Alonso. He was the second-in-command of the Royal Mint of Spain heist but also planned the Bank of Spain heist years prior, which he shared with Professor and Palermo. However, he was killed by the police in the final episode of part 2, sacrificing himself to allow his fellow robbers to escape So why did he die and how did he come back in later seasons?
Berlin’s Death
Berlin’s death was a shocking and emotional moment for many fans of the show, who had grown to love his charismatic and complex personality. However, his death was not a random or arbitrary decision by the writers, but rather a logical and inevitable outcome of his character arc.
First, Berlin was terminally ailing with a rare degenerative disease affecting his muscles and nerves called Helmer’s myopathy. He was aware that he had only a few months to live. He joined the robbery to experience his final days to the fullest and to help his brother, The Professor, realize his dream.
Second, Berlin was a great thief who lived by his own code of honour and ethics. He didn’t fear dying. Instead, he saw it as something he had to deal with. He thought that the bravest and most respectable thing you could do was to die for a good cause.
He also thought of his team as his family and wanted to make sure they were safe and doing well. So, when he saw that the police had surrounded the mint and were about to storm it, he chose to stay back and hold them off with his machine gun, giving his friends time to escape through the tunnel.
Thirdly, Berlin’s death was a way of redeeming himself for some of his questionable actions during the heist. Berlin was not a saint; he was a snob, a misogynist, and a bit sadistic. He often clashed with other members of the gang, especially Tokyo and Rio.
He also abused his power over the hostages, especially Ariadna, whom he forced into a sexual relationship. He even killed one of his own men, Oslo, when he was critically injured by Arturo. By sacrificing himself for the greater good, Berlin showed that he had a heart and that he cared for others more than himself.
Berlin’s Return
Although Berlin died in part 2, he returned in part 3 through flashbacks several years earlier, showing his original planning of the Bank of Spain heist and being married to a woman named Tatiana. He also appeared in part 4 and part 5 in more flashbacks, revealing more details about his past life and relationships.
The reason why Berlin returned in later seasons was because he was such a beloved character by both the fans and the creators of the show. Álex Pina, the creator of Money Heist, said that Berlin was “one of those characters that don’t exist in real life but that you find once every hundred years in fiction”.
Pedro Alonso, the actor who played Berlin, said that Berlin was “cruel, heroic, and funny at the same time” and that he had “a very special connection” with him. The flashbacks also served as a way of exploring Berlin’s personality and motivations more deeply, as well as providing clues and connections to the present events of the show.
For example, in part 3, we learned that Berlin’s wife Tatiana was an expert in forging documents and that she knew about the Bank of Spain plan. This raised suspicions that she might be Alicia Sierra, the pregnant inspector who hunted down The Professor and his gang.
In part 4, we learned that Berlin had a son named Rafael, whom he wanted to recruit for the heist but who refused to join him. This hinted that Rafael might appear in future seasons as a potential ally or enemy for The Professor.
In part 5, we learned that Berlin had another brother named Rafael (not to be confused with his son), who was also involved in criminal activities and who helped him escape from Interpol. This revealed more about Berlin’s family background and history.
