The permanent memorial space for ASTRO’s Moonbin will be closed immediately, according to Fantagio. Announcing the immediate closure of Seonunsa Temple Moon Space (Moonbin’s memorial space) as of 8 p.m. KST on December 3, ASTRO’s agency Fantagio posted on the group’s official fan cafe on December 3, citing the opinions of AROHA (ASTRO’s official fan club name).
Moon Space moved to Seonunsa Temple from Gukcheongsa Temple near Namhansanseong on December 2 and reopened to Moonbin’s fans the following day. On the other hand, when word got out about the move, fans began to wonder if Fantagio was involved in any way with Seonunsa Temple and demanded that the exhibition of Moonbin’s cherished pieces be removed.
Rumor has it that Moonbin’s memorial space, which will house cherished mementos from his life, is being moved to a mountainous area over four hours away from Seoul. Fans have claimed that this move was announced by Fantagio. An agreement between Fantagio and Seonunsa Temple was inked in September of this year.
“Fantagio has not entered into any kind of agreement or contract with Seonunsa and has no financial interest whatsoever,” Fantagio stated in response to the accusations. A permanent memorial tablet for Moonbin needed to be enshrined, and winter safety concerns for visitors necessitated moving the Moon Space from Gukcheongsa Temple to Seonunsa Temple, they explained. Since Gukcheongsa Temple is a subsidiary temple of Seonunsa Temple, we have chosen to move.

In a heartfelt tribute to Moonbin, the agency’s executives and employees spent days meticulously preparing the memorial space at Seonunsa Temple. Never intentionally mislead or hurt the sentiments of Fantagio’s employees and executives toward Moonbin. To that, they said, “We intend to pursue robust legal measures to prevent the spread of unfounded rumors going forward.”
