As he readies himself to do his obligatory military service in South Korea, Song Kang is preparing for a major life change. On February 29, Song Kang’s enlistment plans were announced through his agency, Namoo Actors.
News of his conscription notice from January 2024 had already spread before this decision was made. According to the announcement from the agency, the star of “My Demon” will report for military duty on April 2, 2024.
Given the country’s geopolitical difficulties, especially with neighboring North Korea, all men who are healthy and able-bodied are compelled to serve in the military for about 18 to 22 months as part of national defense measures in South Korea. This is for those who are unaware.
Namoo Actors thanked Song Kang’s devoted fan base and outlined the steps for him to join the military. In order to keep the recruit training center safe and avoid crowding, the agency announced that no official events will be held there. Showing understanding, they asked that fans not congregate at the military facility.
In the hopes of his safe homecoming and future development after serving his country, his agency reached out to the public for a lot of love and support. “Hello, this is Namoo Actors,” the statement stated. Here is a notice about Song Kang’s enlistment, and we want to thank all of the fans who have shown their devotion to actor Song Kang throughout the years.

On Tuesday, April 2, Song Kang will join the [Republic of Korea] Army as an active duty soldier. We kindly request your understanding that there will be no formal ceremonies conducted upon his arrival at the recruit training center. He will be enrolling secretly to avoid any potential safety incidents caused by crowding on the premises.
After faithfully doing his necessary service, we ask that Song Kang return in good health and with greater maturity, and we ask that many people show him their warm love and support. My sincere appreciation.
