Anirudh Pisharody is joining Netflix’s third season of Never Have I Ever as a guest star for five episodes in the forthcoming chapter.
Actor Pisharody has been cast in the part of Des (short for Nirdesh), an Indian American adolescent kid who attends an exclusive private school like the show’s heroine Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan).
Never Have I Ever, a coming-of-age comedy from Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher is now in production for its third season and follows Devi, a first-generation Indian American adolescent. Whether it’s her academic endeavors or her love life, the girl at the heart of this clever comedy never has a dull moment.
Pisharody joins Darren Barnet, Jaren Lewison, Ramona Young, Lee Rodriguez, Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, and narrator John McEnroe as well as other Never Have I Ever cast members for Season 3 of the series. The third season of the program is now being produced in Los Angeles.
In addition to his work on hit TV programs like 9-1-1, The Goldbergs, Last Man Standing, and SEAL Team, Pisharody is a native Texan who now calls Los Angeles home. Howard Klein and David Miner are the executive producers of Never Have I Ever, along with creator Kaling and co-creator/showrunner/writer Lang. As production on Never Have I Ever’s future season proceeds, we’ll bring you more information as it becomes available.
Never Have I Ever Will There Be A Third Season, Or Not?
Yes! Soon after the adolescent comedy’s second season hit the top 10, Netflix announced that it has renewed it for a third season. “We are so thankful to Netflix and Universal Television for allowing us to continue to tell this tale, and to the viewers across the globe who clamored to see more of this terribly behaved Indian girl,” the show’s co-creators, Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher said in a joint statement. An Instagram video from Netflix and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, the star of the show, was posted to convey the good news.
Never Have I Ever Season 3 Release Date
A release date for the third season of Stranger Things has yet to be revealed by Netflix, but a social media teaser promoting it says “coming soon.” Season 3 is expected to premiere on Netflix around the end of 2022, given the year-plus gap between seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 is presently in development, Netflix confirmed in early 2022.
What Are The Possibilities for Never Have I Ever Season 3?
There have been hints from the show’s stars and writers that a fuller exploration of Devi and Paxton’s budding adolescent relationship might be in store for season 3. ET spoke to co-creator and executive producer Lang Fisher and learned that the upcoming season would focus on “sex, what to do when a man who’s been around for years is dating a guy who hasn’t been around for years,” Fisher said.
Barnet also remarked in an interview with PopSugar that he’s interested to watch how Devi and Paxton’s new relationship grows, even if it means more turmoil instead of perfect contentment. “For Devi, Paxton, and Devi herself, there is much more to learn about each other and about Paxton as a person. Who knows whether and when that will all come to fruition. You never know whether they’ll fall in love, decide they’re better friends, or despise one other.”
At the time, Fischer vowed that Devi’s family, notably her grandmother Nirmala, will be a significant part of the show going forward. “She added a whole new depth to the story and helped fill the emptiness left by Mohan’s departure. I’d want to observe how her family has changed after her divorce.” Devi’s connection with her mother will “develop and evolve and alter,” according to Fischer. As she put it, “It would be good to have them depend a bit more on one other.”
When it comes to Devi’s mother Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar, Poorna Jagannathan does not know whether she would continue to date in season 3, adding that Nalini is “not ready.” My apologies to you, Common!
Ramakrishnan feels that Devi’s character would grow in bravery and be true to herself in season three. This is something I’d want to see more of in her,” she said to ET.
Never Have I Ever Season 3 Casts
Netflix confirmed in January 2022 that Anirudh Pisharody will join the show as a recurrent guest actor in season 3. “An Indian American adolescent kid who’s as clever as Devi but attends an exclusive private school,” he’ll portray as Des in the movie. For our favorite high schooler, this new addition can only lead to further heartbreak. Last Man Standing, Fox 9-1-1, and The Goldbergs have all previously featured him in minor parts.
